A sales associate (often called a sales assistant, store associate, or shop assistant) is an employee in the retail industry who is responsible for serving customers directly in the sales area. Unlike cashiers, who focus on payments, sales associates actively move around the store floor to ensure product availability and customer comfort.

• Visitor Service (Greeting & Assistance): Greet incoming customers, be friendly, and provide accurate information regarding product details or item locations.

• Initial Stock Management: Checking the availability of goods on the shelves periodically, checking the expiration date, and reporting to warehouse staff if stock is running low.

• Cleanliness of Work Area: Maintaining product cleanliness, display shelves cleanliness, and shopping aisles cleanliness to ensure comfort for visitors.

• Attractive & Neat Appearance: Because they are the front face of the store who interact directly with buyers, sales assistants are required to appear clean, neat, and maintain hygiene.

• Friendly & Communicative Attitude: Have a sociable personality, smile a lot, and get along easily to build closeness with consumers.

• Honest & Responsible: Have high integrity because they are fully responsible for the safety of products on the shelves to prevent loss of goods.
