Pool Attendant

A Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the swimming pool and deck areas. Operating primarily within the recreation or engineering department of a hotel or resort, they provide exceptional guest service by setting up pool furniture, distributing towels, and ensuring a safe environment for all swimmers.

• Guest Assistance & Comfort: Greet guests warmly, arrange lounge chairs and umbrellas, and hand out fresh, clean pool towels.

• Pool Cleanliness: Skimming the pool surface for debris, vacuuming the pool floor, and wiping down the deck area to prevent slippery surfaces.

• Safety Monitoring: Enforcing pool safety regulations (e.g., no running, monitoring children) and acting immediately in the event of an emergency.

• Towel & Linen Control: Collecting used towels, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with the laundry department for a continuous fresh supply.

• Equipment Maintenance: Reporting any broken furniture, torn umbrellas, or filtration system issues to the engineering team.

• Certifications: First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), or Lifeguard Certification is highly valued and often mandatory for luxury five-star properties.

• Experience: Entry-level friendly, though 1 year of experience in hospitality, recreation, or fitness environments is preferred.

• Language: Conversational English skills to confidently greet international guests, take drink orders (if cross-trained with food & beverage), or explain safety rules.
