Houskeeping Manager

A Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments. Their primary goal is to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house zones, and linens meet the absolute highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, aesthetic presentation, and safety to maximize guest satisfaction.

• Daily Operation Control: Allocating daily room cleaning assignments to attendants and cross-checking room statuses with the Front Office team.

• Quality Inspections: Conducting random and routine inspections of VIP rooms, guest corridors, and public spaces to ensure pristine cleanliness.

• Inventory & Procurement: Conducting monthly stock takes of linen, uniforms, guest amenities (soaps, slippers, mini-bar items), and placing purchase orders within budget.

• Staff Rostering & Payroll Control: Creating weekly work schedules, managing annual leave, and controlling labor costs according to hotel occupancy levels.

• Inter-Departmental Coordination: Collaborating closely with the Engineering team to report room defects (plumbing, electrical glitches) for immediate repair.

• Guest Feedback Management: Addressing guest complaints or special requests regarding room cleanliness, bedding preferences, or lost-and-found items professionally.

• Education: Diploma (D3/D4) or Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel housekeeping, with at least 2–3 years serving in a supervisory capacity (e.g., Housekeeping Supervisor or Assistant Manager).

• Language: Professional English proficiency (written and spoken) is critical for handling international guest complaints, compiling administrative reports, and coordinating with foreign executives or owners.

• Physical Fitness: High stamina is necessary, as the role requires walking long distances across the property and conducting physical inspections throughout the day.
